How Long Does FBN Publication Take, From Start to Affidavit?

Updated October 29, 2026

Short answer: once the first notice prints, a California FBN runs once a week for four consecutive weeks, so the last notice appears three weeks after the first. The first notice must appear within 45 days after your statement is filed, and the newspaper's affidavit of publication is filed with the county clerk within 45 days after the fourth notice (B&P Code §17917). PublishProof handles all of it for one flat county price, from $59.

Newspapers publish legal notices on fixed days and set their own submission deadlines, so the first possible date depends on your county and the day you order. Each county page shows the next order cutoff and first publication date. Use the deadline calculator to check your 45-day window.
