Questions

Is PublishProof the Cheapest Service for McHenry County Assumed Name Publication?

Yes. Among services that handle the publication for you, PublishProof is the cheapest service provider for McHenry County assumed name publication that we found in our October 2026 pricing research. The reason is structural: our $149 is all-inclusive of the newspaper publication. In that research, no other service in Illinois offered a flat price that includes publication: filing services charge for the filing alone and leave the publication, and its cost, to you. The only other cost is the McHenry County Clerk's $5 assumed name filing fee, which you pay the clerk directly when you file. It is not part of our price. You can always arrange the publication with a newspaper yourself and pay only its own rate; our claim is about services, not about doing it yourself.

Who Has to Publish an Assumed Name in Illinois?

What If My Filing Date Is Too Old?

When you enter your filing date, we check it against both deadlines before you pay. If the first publication can no longer run within 15 days of your filing, we tell you and don't take the order. Talk to the county clerk about your options.

Who Files the Certificate of Publication With the Clerk?

It depends on the county. In some counties the newspaper files it with the clerk directly; in others the newspaper sends it to us and we file it. Your county page says which, and we email you when it has been filed.
